Working with First Nation communities to provide tools and services that aid in community enhancement and planning. Some examples of these services include processing data for infrastructure inventories, developing lot plans, creating orthomosaics using drone imagery, creating spatial layers to display flood risk, digitizing traditional knowledge, and more.
Responsible for creating, uploading, and maintaining spatial layers on an online mapping application used by clients.
Gained experience with creating, printing, and scanning oversize paper maps.
A collaborative project as part of Fleming College’s GIS Applications Specialist program where companies send in proposals for students to complete. This project was submitted as a collaboration between Community Race Relations Committee of Peterborough, GreenUP, Kawartha World Issues Centre and academics at Trent University and U of T. The purpose of this project was to produce an Esri StoryMap featuring a collection of socio-demographic variables and their convergence with pollution in the Peterborough County region.
Responsible for creating the overall database design for use with the newly compiled data and maintaining the database throughout the project.
Completed as part of a field placement in Fleming College’s Ecosystem Management program. The goal was to create a visual and accessible document explaining the storage and growth needs as well as identification features of various seeds native to Ontario.
Took on a leadership role to assign duties to a group of 11 other students. Created and maintained the final 117-page research document.
Required quick and decisive problem-solving skills when the project required altering to fit the reality of software and information limitations, as well as maintaining contact with individuals to ensure the project stayed on schedule.
Maintaining COVID-19 Health and Safety regulations to ensure safe usage of park facilities
Online tutoring for students attending Fleming College at Frost Campus on subjects such as: Statistics, Applied Math, Introductory Chemistry, Wildlife Observation, Ecology and Environment, Trees and Shrubs of Ontario, Forest Measurement, and more.
Developed learning plans for regular tutees to aid in engagement with course materials. Reported on sessions and maintained student files within the online administrative system.
Answered a large volume of calls regarding technological troubleshooting. Interpreted customer issues and addressed them through on-call help or by scheduling in-store appointments for hardware assistance. De-escalated stressful situations by working with customers in a calm and reassuring manner.
Offered promotion involving the training and support of new employees.
Completed the Geographic Informations Systems - Application Specialist program from Sept 2021 to June 2022.
Completed the Ecosystem Management Technician program from May 2020 to May 2021.
Completed the General Arts and Science- Environment and Natural Resource Studies program from Sept 2019 to April 2020.
